Guest Bedroom Necessities

Hello friends!

One of the questions that I get asked so often is what I recommend putting into guest bedrooms to make them feel warm and inviting. Today, I’m sharing what I believe are necessities for every guest bedroom. These are ideas that I like to implement into the guest bedrooms at our home and our Airbnb’s.

1. Luggage Rack or Bench

  1. This goes without saying as I do believe that is is probably one of the key things that guests love. Who wants to dig around a suitcase that’s on the floor? Not me! I like to place a luggage rack in each guest bedroom so that guests can have easy access to their suitcases.

Here are a few links to my favorite luggage racks.

2. Extra Blankets

It’s always a good idea to have a few extra blankets on hand for guests to use. We provide lots of extra blankets for the guests who stay with us because we like to keep our home on the cooler side at night. :-)

Some of my favorite blankets:

3. Towels and Washcloths

I like to fill a basket with towels and washcloths (including a few dark ones for removing make-up). This is helpful so guests know where to find towels - especially if they are sharing a bathroom.

My favorite washcloths and towels:

4. Water and Snacks

Sometimes you just want a snack at night…so that’s why I include this on my list of necessities! (By the way….make sure that you add water AND chocolate! :-)

5. A Welcome Note

It’s always nice to come into a room with a note from the host. In the note, you can write the wi-fi password or any other words of encouragement/instruction to them.

I also put our wi-fi password on a picture clip and keep it in the space so it’s always visible to our guests.

I found some really cute Wi-Fi password frames. If you’re looking for some, check these out!

6. Flowers and Extra Soaps

We add small soaps and shampoos in our Airbnb’s and so I also put them in our guest bedroom as well. I love putting fresh flowers into their room - if I have time to grab them!

7. A Coffee Maker

This is a nice feature to add to a guest bedroom - but not a necessity. I include it on my list because our guests seem to really like to wake up and have coffee provided - in the privacy of their bedroom.

8. Extra Pillows and Nice Bedding

It’s always great to give guests extra fluffy pillows. Who doesn’t love that right?? Bedding makes all the difference for a great night’s sleep!

The linens in this bedroom:

9. A Fan

Most people who travel love to have white noise available when they sleep. A fan provides this as well as cool air. I highly recommend placing a stand up fan or portable one in each bedroom if you don’t have a ceiling fan.

Here are a few of my favorites:

10. Last but not least….A Charging Station

When I travel, one of the things that I love is when the hosts provide easy access to an outlet or source for charging my phone. These days, there are charging stations that you can purchase and place on a bedside table or you can even find bedside tables, lamps, or bed frames that have these built in.

Here are a few of my favorites:

We put this Zinus Lottie Bed in one of our Airbnb’s and I love the fact that it has a USB outlet built into the bed. This is so convenient!

No matter the size of the room where your guests sleep…you can make them feel welcome simply by adding these necessities into the space!

Thanks for stopping by friends. I really appreciate you! Leave me a comment and let me know which necessity you like best!

Sending you hugs from afar -
