My Favorite Items to Use in Christmas Decor

Hello friends and Happy December!

It’s been awhile since I’ve written - as we were away for Thanksgiving and then were home for a day and headed to Mexico for some meetings with our Foursquare denomination.

I love giving you inspiration for Christmas so I’m thrilled to be able to share with you my favorite items that I’m using to decorate for Christmas this year….showing you ideas from my home and our Airbnb’s. (Feel free to check out last year’s post to see my favorite Christmas decor from last year. Click here to see that post.)

So, let’s get started! Here is what I’m incorporating into my decor this year for Christmas:

1. Succulents

I have always loved succulents because they have such a unique look and texture. This year, I placed small succulents in vintage glasses to give my table a festive look. I also added eucalyptus and other bits of greenery along with pinecones to finish out my table.

2. Mini-Wreaths

Mini-wreaths are my “go to” item that I have incorporated into my decor and this year. I added some to the back of my kitchen bar stools...so simple and easy!

3. Minimalistic Trees

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’m incorporating minimalistic trees into my decor this year. I am loving the look of trees that have simple lights and simple decor.

I found this tree in our Living Room at the clearance area of the At Home store last year. They do not carry this same one, but I was able to find similar ones from King of Christmas so make sure you check them out!

Here is another King of Christmas tree. This one is the 6’ King Noble Fir and I just love how real it looks in our Dining Room.

4. Pops of RED!

This year, I have changed up my decor and added pops of red in places where I usually don’t. I have always been kind of a “neutral” girl - but this year, I’m expanding my decor horizons and adding red to my holiday decor and I love it! Here are a few pics from the Bungalow Airbnb.

5. Christmas tea towels in the Kitchen

This seems like something I should have done in the past, but believe it or not…this is the first year that I’ve picked up Christmas tea towels! Yes, I know…shocking! I found these at the Target dollar spot and I just love the festive touches that they add to these spaces!

6. Mini Christmas Trees

I guess this year, I am into “mini” things and so adding a few mini-trees to the guest bedrooms at our Airnbn’s seems like the perfect amount of holiday cheer!

7. Christmas Signs

I love bringing in Christmas signs this time of year. I found this wooden sign at Homegoods a few years ago and it is still one of my favorites because it reminds me to focus on the true meaning of Christmas…Jesus’ birth. So simple and true.

8. Trays

Last but not least…incorporating trays into my Christmas decor is at the top on my list! In fact, if you read last year’s blog post, I mentioned trays there, too. I love the simplicity of styling a tray for Christmas and placing it on a bed or on a coffee table. The other great thing about styling trays is that they are easy to move if you have little ones at home.

This tray is from Smith Crafted Wood works. So pretty!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading while I shared some of my favorite Christmas decor for 2019 with you! My prayer for you this holiday season is my word of the year and that is: SAVOR. I hope that you are able to SAVOR time with your family and friends during the days ahead and enjoy times of refreshing as we celebrate the birth of our SAVIOR! Friends, you mean so much to me and I so appreciate all of your support and love this year!

Sending you hugs from afar -
