My Favorite Rugs

Hello friends,

I hope that you are doing well and keeping a smile on your face despite all of the craziness that we’ve experienced in 2020. My motto lately is: breathe in the peace of the Lord and keep smiling. :-)

Today I’ve got rugs on my mind since I’ve been doing lots of projects this year with rugs. Did you know that changing up a rug in your home is the EASIEST and MOST ECONOMICAL way to make a big change (besides paint!)? Yes, it’s true!

Here are some RUG ideas from my home and our Airbnb’s…that will hopefully inspire you and make you smile today.

My Home (Living Room):

This is a new rug that I received from Loloi Rugs. I love the vintage yet modern look that it gives to this space.

This rug is called: Skye - Apricot Mist (Size: 7’6” x 9’6”)

Styling tip: Make sure your rug is large enough so that your sofa legs are on top of the rug. It’s best to have them at least 4” on the rug or more.

Styling tip: to make a larger room seem cozier, bring your furniture in closer on your rug.

My Home (Our Bedroom):

This rug in our bedroom is from Boutique Rugs. They have so many pretty styles to choose from!

This one is called: Upham (Size 7 x 9).

Styling tip: again…make sure your rug is large enough so that the legs of the bed overlap the rug by 4” or more.

Our Home (Outdoor Patio):

Here are similar rugs to this one which is on our patio: Murphysboro, Raeburn, Sumerall

This one is 5 x 7 but it would probably look better if it was a bit larger.

Our Cottage Airbnb (Frederick, MD):

This rug is a fun, striped rug which is in the bedroom of the cottage Airbnb in Frederick, MD. Striped rugs are great for adding texture to spaces and they go great with most decor. See how good it looks with the sponge painted wall in the background? Here is a similar one: Union Rustic.

This Bold Striped Shag is perfect on a porch as well as inside in your entryway!

Bungalow Airbnb (Frederick, MD):

This gray spotted cow hide rug compliments the wallpaper in our Bungalow Airbnb.

Little rugs like this one are great for putting in between beds.

Looking into the kitchen, I’ve placed a shag rug underneath the rolling bar cart.

Don’t hesitate to use outdoor rugs inside in your home. This black geometric rug is perfect for any indoor, high traffic area such as this in our Dining Room at the bungalow Airbnb.

Modern Coastal Cottage (Dunedin, FL):

This gray rug is called: Oreana which is an indoor/outdoor rug with a bohemian look.

Styling tip: Don’t hesitate to layer rugs in your home. Here in this space, I simply turned over another outdoor rug that I had on hand and layered a lighter one on top. Layering rugs add texture to any space!

Again….striped rugs look fantastic between beds and help to break up the space.

This is one of my favorite rugs from NuLoom which adds a bit of subtle blue/pink and orange color to this room at our FL Airbnb.

Here is our newly finished Dining Room at the FL Airbnb. This is a Nicole Miller Rug called Parlin.

Light is from LNC Home.

Styling tip: It’s always best to go bigger in the Dining Room than smaller. Why? Because you want to make sure the entire table is on the rug as well as the chairs.

Thanks for joining me today as I shared with you my favorite rugs! Please don’t hesitate to DM me on IG or comment here if you have any questions!

Sending hugs from afar -
